The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
North Palm Beach is a village in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 12,064 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. census bureau is 12,645 and it is 12,633 in 2005 U.S. Census Estimate. With such assets as warm weather, sunshine, golf, ocean fishing, boating, sandy beaches and balmy breezes. The Village has much to offer enthusiastic people who are raising families or are looking to retire.
 
North Palm Beach was mangrove swamps and farm and ranch land until development occurred in the mid 1950s. The area to become North Palm Beach was punctuated only by Monet Road and Johnson Dairy Road to the east-west US 1 and Prosperity Farms Road to the north-south. Full scale development and incorporation as a village occurred nearly simultaneously in 1956, with extensive dredging creating waterfront cul-de-sacs, and the development of a new east-west artery, Lighthouse Drive connecting Old Dixie Highway.
 
According to the United States census bureau, the village has a total area of 15.0 square kilometers. 9.2 square kilometers of it is land and 5.8 square kilometers of it is water. In the village the population was spread out with 14.3 percent under the age of 18, 3.9 percent from 18 to 24, 24.2 percent from 25 to 44, 26.8 percent from 45 to 64, and 30.8 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females there were 94.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.1 males.
 
It is also known as the city of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
