Apopka




Florida is a state located in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Apopka is a municipality in Orange County, Florida. In 2005, the population of the city was 34,728 and an area of 64.6 square kilometers. Apopka is served by Orange County Public Schools. Apopka High School is in Apopka and one of University of Florida's College of Pharmacy's satelite campuses is located in Apopka. In 1882, the City of Apopka was incorporated. In the city the population was spread out with 28.2 percent  under the age of 18, 8.6 percent  from 18 to 24, 33.6 percent  from 25 to 44, 19.5 percent  from 45 to 64, and 10.1 percent  who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 94.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.1 males.
