Anna Maria




Florida is a state located in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Anna Maria is a municipality in Manatee County, Florida. In 2005, the population of the city was 1,867 and an area of 2.6 square kilometers. The city of Anna Maria is a residential community, located at the northern end of Anna Maria Island. The city is known for its world class beaches, friendly people and laid-back lifestyle. The entire city is a bird sanctuary and you can see many species of water and shore birds there.
 
In the city the population was spread out with 12.5 percent  under the age of 18, 3.3 percent  from 18 to 24, 14.9 percent  from 25 to 44, 36.2 percent  from 45 to 64, and 33.2 percent  who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 56 years. For every 100 females there were 90.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.3 males.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Anna Maria is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
