Zolfo Springs




The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Zolfo Springs is a town in Hardee County, Florida, United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.9square kilometer, all land. The population was 1,641 at the 2000 census. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2004 estimates, the town had a population of 1,659, and 12,258 at the 2005 U.S. Census Estimate.
 
There were 497 households out of which 39.4 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2 percent were married couples living together, 15.1 percent had a female house holder with no husband present, and 19.7 percent were non families. 14.9 percent of all households were made up of individuals and 9.5 percent had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.26 and the average family size was 3.55.
 
In the town the population was spread out with 32.3 percent under the age of 18, 11.2 percent from 18 to 24, 25.3 percent from 25 to 44, 16.4 percent from 45 to 64, and 14.9 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 102.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.2 males.

The town is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of United States, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
