Winter Garden
The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
Winter Garden is a city and suburb located 14 miles west of downtown Orlando in western orange county, florida. It's a great place to Live. In the heart of the downtown, one can see the successful efforts of redevelopment quaint stores, restaurants and the west orange trail all enhance the charm and quality of life of this small west orange county community.
The reasons are plenty. Once renowned for its vast citrus industries, the city is beginning to attract other businesses, like computer and investment companies. With easy access to highway 50, the east west expressway, the city can accommodate the needs of almost any business. Despite the growth and plans for diversification, the citrus industry is still important to the city. Many well known companies employ hundreds of people in the packing and juice industries.
According to the U.S Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 31.3 kilometer square. 31.2 kilometer of it is land and 0.1 kilometer of it is water. The city is bordered on the south by the town of Windermere, on the east by Ocoee, on the west by Lake County and on the north by Lake Apopka. As of 2005, the population was 25,500. The population will continue to grow quickly as new housing communities are built.
In the city, the population was spread out with 26 percent under the age of 18, 9 percent from 18 to 24, 31.3 percent from 25 to 44, 19.5 percent from 45 to 64, and 14.2 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37.1 years. For every 100 females there were 91.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.8 males. The city is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of U.S, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
