Weston




The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama and on the west at the end of the panhandle by Alabama.
 
Weston is a city located in Broward County, Florida, United States of America. It was established as a city in 1996 and much of the community was developed by Arvida partners. The city is located near the western developmental boundary of Broward County. As of July 2005 the city had a total population of 65,679. In 2006, Cable News Network’s Money magazine ranked Weston 20th in America in the biggest earners category which ranks the 25 cities in America with the highest incomes. It was also ranked as the city with largest job growth in Florida and is the 18th largest in the nation. It is located to the west of developed Broward County. It is bordered by the various municipalities such as Sunrise, Davie and Southwest Ranches.
 
According to the United States census bureau the city has a total area of 68.1 square kilometers out of which 61.5 square kilometers is land and 6.5 square kilometers is water that is 9.59 percent of total area. In the city the population is spread out with 32.4 percent under the age of 18, 5.0 percent from 18 to 24, 36.1 percent from 25 to 44, 19.8 percent from 45 to 64 and 6.7 percent who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years, for every 100 females there are 94.1 males and for every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.2 males.

Weston has become a centre of industry and administration. It is the rich people residence and it is one of the most developed cities in Florida and a popular destination for tourism as well. The city is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Florida. Hence this city enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers which is the employers’ paradise.
