Sunny Isles Beach




The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Sunny Isles Beach is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. In 2004, the population of the city was 15,399 and an area of 3.7 square kilometers. Sunny Isles Beach is a major center of South Florida's Russian community, with a plethora of Russian stores lining Collins Avenue, the main thoroughfare through the city. The city is sometimes referred to as Little Moscow because of its many Russian and Russian-descended residents. It is a booming resort area and developers such as Donald Trump have invested heavily in construction of high-rise hotels and condominiums.
 
In the city the population was spread out with 11.3 percent under the age of 18, 5.4 percent from 18 to 24, 26.9 percent from 25 to 44, 24.3 percent from 45 to 64, and 32.2 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females there were 86.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.6 males.
