South Bay




The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
South Bay is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida in United States. The population was 3,859 at the 2000 census and according to 2004 census bureau it was 4,037. Located in western palm beach county, South Bay has maintained its small town appeal in one of the nation's booming areas. While the current estimates place South Bay's population in the incorporated city limits at more than 4,000 people, the surrounding areas increase the population figures to 54,000 people.
 
According to the United States census bureau, the city has a total area of 9.6 square kilometers of which 7.0 square kilometers is land and 2.6 square kilometers is water. The population was spread out with 27.0 percent under the age of 18, 9.3 percent from 18 to 24, 37.3 percent from 25 to 44, 20.4 percent from 45 to 64 and 6.0 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 172.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 210.6 males.

With available labor, low taxes, willing government and strong infrastructure, the city is well suited for virtually any industry. It is developing in various fields such as distribution, manufacturing, tourism and recreation. Rich black soil and the lakes vast waters make South Bay a haven for agriculture and recreation. It is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
