Hypoluxo




Florida is a state located in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Hypoluxo is nestled in the heart of Palm Beach County, Florida, on the shores of the Intercostals Waterway. They are just few minutes from West Palm Beach and a mere stone's throw from the sandy Atlantic beaches. The population town was 2,612 in 2005 year. The town council at its October 9th 2002 meeting proclaimed the council chamber from this day forward to be known as the Al Merion Council Chamber. Al Merion served as mayor of Hypoluxo for fourteen years.  During his tenure as mayor, the town moved into its current building. 
 
The Flood Insurance Rate Map, FIRM for the town of Hypoluxo, available at the town Hall, includes an explanation of the Flood Zone Designations. The town provides map determinations. Most properties located on the east side of U.S. Highway 1 are in a flood hazard area.  Elevation certificates are available for structures built as early as 1995.
 
The town has contracted with the Village of Wellington to provide building department services. The village will provide necessary State of Florida certified and licensed personnel to operate the building department for the town.

Hypoluxo is a town known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is one of the favorite holiday places for most of the vacation lovers.
