Cape Coral




The state of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine state but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Cape Coral founded in 1965. It is a city in Lee county, Florida, United States. The population was 102,286 at the 2000 census. According to the U.S census estimates of 2005, the city had a population of 140,010. As of July 1, 2005, the population estimate for the metropolitan area was 544,758. Eric Feichthaler is the Mayor of the city. According to the U.S census bureau, the city has a total area of 298.1 kilometer. The population density was 375.4 per square kilometer.
 
The city is divided into Four Quadrants. The east west divide is Santa Barbera and the north side divide is Embers Pkwy. These are also the centres for the city's street grid. The Cape Coral bridge connects Cape Coral parkway to college parkway. The Veterans memorial bridge connects Veterans memorial parkway to Colonial Blvd in Fort Myers. In 1970 with the population at 11,470 the city of Cape Coral was incorporated becoming Florida's second largest in area, trailing only Jacksonville. Barely a decade old, Cape Coral was poised and ready for the future, destined to become one of the nation's fastest growing and most desirable cities.

In the city the population was spread out with 22.6 percent under the age of 18, 5.8 percent from 18 to 24, 26.8 percent from 25 to 44, 25.3 percent from 45 to 64, and 19.6 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.6 males. As it is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of U.S, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
