Bonifay




The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Bonifay is a city in Holmes County, Florida in United States. The city was given its name for a prominent family in the area that goes by the same last name. According to the census of 2005, the city had a population of 2,711. It is the county seat of Holmes County. According to the census bureau, the city has a total area of 9.4 square kilometers occupied by land. The population was spread out with 15.3 percent under the age of 18, 12.6 percent from 18 to 24, 38.9 percent from 25 to 44, 16.8 percent from 45 to 64 and 16.4 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 172.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 192.0 male.

The city has undergone some improvement in various fields. Plans are underway for the construction of a new hospital to be built. The other plans are to open a wilderness education theme park sponsored by wildlife host Jim Fowler. Among the many financial, logistical and regulatory obstacles facing the construction of the park are the locations of a state prison, a county jail and other public facilities within the proposed park. The city provides endless recreational opportunities for visitors and locals. This place is regarded as a premier vacation destination and rated as top vacation spots in Florida. Hence it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
