The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Belleair Bluffs is a city in Pinellas County, Florida in United States. The population was 2,243 at the 2000 census and according to 2005 census, it city had a population of 2,224. The mayor is Chris Arbutine and Robert Russo is vice mayor of the city. The city is made up of 200 businesses both commercial and professional, as well as 540 single family homes, 320 apartments and 650 condominium units. The public works department is a service orientated part of the small city government staffed and operated for the primary purpose of serving both the citizens and the other internal departments of the city.

The community provides for its residents a wide range of living choices and a shopping capability which serves the needs of both the city and its neighboring communities. The annual tree lighting and carol singing continues to be a focal point of the year for the residents. It shares responsibility with Pinellas County for the provision and maintenance of streets, storm drainage and water and sewer utilities. Waste collection and recycling are provided through a private vendor. The city provides endless recreational opportunities for visitors and locals and is regarded as a premier vacation destination and rated as top vacation spots in Florida.
