North Miami Beach

The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.

North Miami Beach is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. Originally named Fulford after Captain William H. Fulford, the city changed its name to North Miami Beach in 1931. The population was 40,786 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 39,921.

It is located midway between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and adjacent to the Golden Glades Interchange where I-95, Florida’s Turnpike, and the Palmetto Expressway meet, North Miami Beach is truly at the Crossroads of South Florida. The central location and easy access has made North Miami Beach one of South Florida's best known regional shopping areas and one of its most popular sites for office users.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.7 square kilometers. 12.8 square kilometers of it is land and 0.9 square kilometers of it is water. Although the North Miami Beach boundaries once stretched to the Atlantic Ocean, this city on the Intracoastal Waterway no longer has any beaches within its city limits, although they are a short distance away across the inlet.

In the city the population was spread out with 27.3 percent under the age of 18, 9.4 percent from 18 to 24, 30.9 percent from 25 to 44, 21.1 percent from 45 to 64, and 11.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older.

North Miami Beach is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in Florida  worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of Florida.
