The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. Miami Gardens is a city located in Miami Dade County, Florida. The population of the city Miami Gardens was 106,566 in the year 2005 with an area of 51.8 square kilometers. Its population density was 5,328.41 per square kilometers. The city is home to the Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins both of whom play in Dolphin Stadium on land that was in Lake Lucerne.
 
Miami Gardens is served by the Miami Dade County Public schools district. American high school, Miami Norland senior high school, and Miami Carol city senior high school serve the residents of Miami Gardens. Miami Gardens is the largest city in Florida that has a majority of black residents.
