Dania Beach




The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Dania Beach is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 20,061 in 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.3 square kilometers. The population density was 1,271.9 per kilometers. There were 10,847 housing units at an average density of 687.7 per square kilometers. In 1880, the first city in Broward County was incorporated. Most of the 35 residents were of Danish ancestry, and they changed the name of the town to Dania. In 2001, the city annexed several unincorporated areas of Broward County increasing the population by about 3,600.
